The Sarasota Orchid
Society is a non-profit society dedicated to the education, appreciation
and enjoyment of the many varieties of orchids. The beautiful tropical
climate enjoyed by people living in Sarasota is ideal for cultivation
of these spectacular plants.
The
regular monthly meetings of the Sarasota Orchid Society are
held in the Activities Center on the grounds of the beautiful Marie
Selby Botanical Gardens. The Gardens are located at 811 South Palm
Avenue in Sarasota, Florida. If you need directions to Selby Gardens click
here for a map. On arrival at the Gardens, directional
signs will point you to the meeting facility. Meetings are held
on the first Monday of each month starting promptly at 7:30 P.M.
Cultural classes meet every month at 6:30 P.M. Be sure to
check the calendar below for details. Visitors are always welcome
to attend our cultural classes, as well as the business meetings.
Our meetings generally consist of a business meeting, a judged “Show and
Tell Table” displaying
plants grown by our members, a guest speaker or presentation, raffle
of beautiful orchid plants, and of course, refreshments. Please join
us…it’s lots of fun! |
