The
regular monthly business meetings of the Sarasota Orchid Society are
held in the Activities Center on the grounds of the beautiful Marie
Selby Botanical Gardens. The Gardens are located at 811 South Palm
Avenue in Sarasota, Florida. If you need directions to Selby Gardens click
here for a map. On arrival at the Gardens, directional
signs will point you to the meeting facility. Meetings are held
on the first Monday of each month starting promptly at 7:30 P.M.
Cultural classes meet every other month at 6:30 P.M. Be sure to
check the calendar below for details. Visitors are always welcome
to attend our cultural classes, as well as the business meetings.
Our meetings generally consist of a business meeting, a judged “Show and
Tell Table” displaying
plants grown by our members, a guest speaker or presentation, raffle
of beautiful orchid plants, and of course, refreshments. Please join
us…it’s lots of fun!

Labor Day Picnic Monday September 6 @ 6:00 PM at the Selby Gardens Activity Center. (our usual meeting place.)
We will not have a formal meeting or a speaker this evening-just a good chance to get together and get to know one another better! We do plan to have a special plant raffle and are asking our members to bring a plant that you would like to contribute to the raffle. Should be fun.
Our Society will provide the meat- Chicken & Ribs, also coffee, paper plates, flatware, cups, & Ice. All Society members and a guest are invited to attend - Please call Susan Gerhardt @ 284-7463 or Jo Davis @ 228-5501 by Wednesday, September 1st. to sign up.
